Profile: Coach Womble is well acquainted with Soldiers basketball, having coached the men’s basketball team for six years (02-03 to 07-08).  During his tenure, the Soldiers earned their first ever national tournament appearance, had back to back 20 win seasons, and set 11 school records.  Womble was named NCCAA Div II Central Region Coach of the Year during the 05-06 season. 
            After a one year absence, Womble is back temporarily to help establish the Lady Soldiers basketball program.  Womble said, “I like what I see.  We have some talented ladies and they are very coachable and enthusiastic.”
            Womble wears several hats at SLCC.  He is also Professor of Biblical Studies and the Adults in Ministry Coordinator.  The 2010 season will also be his first as head coach of the baseball team.
